Asbestos Information

Asbestos In home diagram 1

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that is resistant to heat, fire, and chemicals.  It is because of those properties that asbestos was used as an additive to many different building materials.  When asbestos containing materials degrade or are disturbed the fibers become airborne and are easily inhaled accumulating in the lungs causing serious medical conditions such as mesothelioma, lung cancer, asbestosis as well as other respiratory and health disorders.

These medical problems have a delayed onset and will not manifest into noticeable problems until years after the actual exposure occurred.

Limit you potential exposures by having ESI perform an Asbestos Survey prior to any renovation or demolition activities.
