The Environmental Protection Agency’s National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) (40 CFR, Part 61, Subpart M) applies to all institutional, commercial, public, industrial, and residential structures or buildings containing greater than four residential dwelling units. All structures falling under the NESHAP regulation are required to have a thorough asbestos inspection, of the proposed work areas, prior to the commencement of the demolition or renovation activities.
ESI’s certified AHERA Building Inspectors are trained to perform NESHAP asbestos inspections in accordance with EPA regulations and AHERA sampling protocols. This intrusive inspection will include the surveying for and sampling of suspect asbestos containing materials. The collected samples will be logged onto a chain of custody and submitted to a National Voluntary Accreditation Laboratory (NVLAP) for analysis.
After the inspection is completed and all of the applicable information is obtained ESI will create a detailed report indicating the inspection findings, laboratory analysis results, and the location of all identified asbestos containing materials.
