Lead Information

Effect of Lead in ChildLead is a toxic metal that was commonly used in building products prior to 1978. As these products degrade or become damaged we are exposed to the toxic lead found within. Exposure to the lead can occur through the air, drinking water, contaminated soil, deteriorated paint, and dust.

Lead exposure causes a range of health effects from behavior problems and learning disabilities to seizures and death. Children, six years old and younger, are particularly susceptible due to their play habits and early stage of development.
